Lamb McErlane Partner Carla Marino presents Tax Issues related to Domestic Matters CLE at a Montgomery County Bar Association Seminar
On April 2, 2014, Carla Marino, partner at Lamb McErlane PC, presented a Continuing Legal Education (CLE ) program to the Montgomery County Bar Association – Family Law Section. The topics included were: Tax Issues Related to Domestic Matters – Custody, Support, and Equitable Distribution of the Marital Estate. The tax issues discussed were specifically related to planning for a stable financial future, the tax effects of transferring certain assets and debts, and the tax ramifications related to using retirement assets for debt payment and sophisticated planning when capitalizing a closely held start-up company. The presentation was held at the Montgomery County Bar building in Norristown, PA.
At Lamb McErlane Carla concentrates her practice in Family Law focusing on pre/post nuptial planning and agreements, divorce, equitable distribution, custody, support for a spouse, property settlement and the financial and tax aspects related to domestic issues.
Prior to joining Lamb McErlane in 2009 Ms. Marino worked at a Big Five accounting firm in the State and Local Tax Group advising clients on tax planning issues related to company reorganizations and restructurings. This was followed by her work at a Philadelphia law firm where she further refined her skills in the Tax Group.
Carla also provides attorney services for the Women’s Resource Center in Wayne and West Chester, PA, is a member of the Collaborative Divorce Group and an adjunct professor at Rosemont College. She received her law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and her LL.M in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
