James C. Lindeman

Associate

  • Litigation
  • Municipal, Land Use, and Condemnation Law

James concentrates his practice in municipal law and litigation. He will serve individuals, businesses, and municipalities throughout the region.

James earned his law degree cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law and his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Delaware.

During law school, James was a student-attorney with the school’s Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic – recently ranked 4th in the nation by U.S. News – representing indigent taxpayers in their disputes against the IRS and Maryland Comptroller. It was there that James started a collaborative project with the Maryland Department of Corrections social work office, where he assisted incarcerated taxpayers in claiming their Covid-era stimulus checks. In recognition of this work, James was honored with the Clinical Excellence Award, given to the top clinic student each year, as decided by the faculty.

Prior to joining Lamb McErlane, James worked for a well-respected law firm in Orange County, NY, where he gained experience representing municipalities in planning and zoning matters, property tax appeals, and general litigation. James also gained experience assisting the firm’s partners in their real estate and corporate governance practices, providing a strong foundation in transactional issues to pair with his municipal experience.

James will leverage these skills to deliver strategic, practical solutions tailored to each client’s needs.
