Lamb McErlane Partner Appointed By PA Supreme Court

West Chester, PA – Lamb McErlane PC is honored to announce that Maureen Murphy McBride, partner and member of the firm’s Executive Committee, has been appointed to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s Committee on the Rules of Evidence.

“The firm is proud of this appointment,” states Managing Partner Joel L. Frank. “We are excited that a member of our firm has been asked to provide input to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court on important evidentiary issues affecting litigants state-wide. ”

The Committee on Rules of Evidence studies and makes recommendations to the court about matters affecting evidence law in the Commonwealth. The committee monitors the practical application of the rules, as well as developments in evidence law in Pennsylvania and in other jurisdictions, reflected in case law and statutory changes that have occurred since the rules’ adoption, and identifies areas in which the rules of evidence should be amended or clarified. In addition, the committee continues to review and respond to the questions raised by judges, lawyers, and court personnel.

Since joining Lamb McErlane PC in 1997, Maureen McBride has represented numerous national and multi-national Fortune 500 companies, regional and local corporations, municipalities and individual clients in all stages of litigation and appellate matters before both state and federal courts. Named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer since 2006, she is an active member of the firm’s Post-Trial and Appellate Advocacy Group.  A noted writer of appellate briefs, Maureen is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Appellate Advocacy Committee, and frequently shares her expertise with fellow attorneys through the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s continuing Legal Education courses. Maureen is also a liaison for Project PEACE, an association between Pennsylvania Bar Association and schools in the state dedicated to promoting peace through peer mediation.

In January 2007, Maureen was appointed to the Merit Selection Panel to recommend candidates for United States Magistrate Judge. In May 2007, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania appointed her treasurer of the Pennsylvania Lawyers Fund for Client Security, an organization created to protect the integrity of the legal profession and on whose board she served from 2005 to 2009.
