Lawrence “Skip” Persick Presented the PA Bar Association’s (PBA) Family Law Section’s Report and Recommendations on SB 844 to the PBA Board of Governors
On Monday, October 16, 2017 Lawrence “Skip” Persick presented the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s (PBA) Family Law Section’s Report and Recommendations on SB 844 to the PBA Board of Governors. SB 844 is pending in the PA Legislature and will expand standing for third parties in child custody cases.
The intent of the bill is to aid relatives who have a “sustained, substantial and sincere” interest in children whose parents are either deceased and otherwise unavailable to care for them and its introduction is based in large part on the opioid crisis. The Report and Recommendations were unanimously approved and the PBA is supporting the bill.
Skip is co-chair of the PBA Family Law Section’s Legislative Committee. At Lamb McErlane Skip represents clients involved in divorces, custody disputes, child support matters and adoptions. His experience also includes cases dealing with juvenile dependency and the termination of parental rights.
