Lamb McErlane Senior Partner James E. McErlane Recipient of the Legal Intelligencer’s 2021 Professional Excellence Award for Lifetime Achievement

Congratulations to Lamb McErlane Senior Partner James E. (Jim) McErlane, he is a recipient of the Legal Intelligencer’s 2021 Professional Excellence Awards for Lifetime Achievement.

Lifetime Achievement honorees are being recognized as those who have “left an imprint on the legal history of the state during their career.” Jim has certainly left an imprint, and there will be many more to come. Jim will be honored, among other esteemed colleagues, at an awards reception on June 24, 2021.

Jim is a Senior Partner at Lamb McErlane PC in West Chester, PA. He is one of the founding members of the firm which was organized on January 1, 1971. The firm celebrates 50 years of excellence in 2021.

Jim is sought after in the Region for his legal expertise and guidance.  He concentrates his practice in the area of general business, finance, real estate, municipal and governmental regulations.

He is an Eagle Scout and was in the U.S. Navy JAG 1967-1970, with one year in Vietnam.

The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania appointed Jim to the Judicial Conduct Board with one term as Chair of the Board. Previously Jim served on the Hearing Committee of the Lawyers Disciplinary Board. Jim also sat on the Judicial Nominating Advisory Panel for the US Federal Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is also a member of the Chester County, Pennsylvania, and American Bar Association.

Jim is highly regarded with a widely acclaimed prominence among his firm and the community for his invaluable philanthropic roles in numerous business, civic and charitable organizations.

In April 2020 Jim was honored with the Jeanne Molitor La Rouche Leadership Award by Surrey Services. Jim was also recognized by the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce as its 2011 Citizen of the Year, by the Chester County Council of the Boy Scouts of America as the 2010 Distinguished Citizen of the Year and by the Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry with its Citizenship Award in 2005.

Jim established the “James E. McErlane Fund for International Studies”, at West Chester University (WCU), which over the years has given countless WCU students the opportunity to travel and study abroad.
