Lamb McErlane Partner Ronald A. Amarant Presents at Chester County Library on Wills & Powers of Attorney

Lamb McErlane partner Ronald A. Amarant delivered an educational presentation at the Chester County Library on Wills, Powers of Attorney & Living Wills.

The program focused on the three basic documents generally used to create an estate plan: wills, powers of attorney and advance health care declarations/living wills.  Ron discussed dispositive provisions in wills (including testamentary trusts), selection of fiduciaries (executors, trustees and guardians), and the Pennsylvania inheritance tax (including tips on how to reduce such tax).  In addition, he discussed the difference between a power of attorney that becomes effective upon signing and a springing power of attorney, as well the elections that can be made in an advance health declaration/living will.

The program offered attendees practical insight into the importance of establishing a comprehensive estate plan, understanding the distinctions between wills and trusts, and taking proactive steps to safeguard their assets and loved ones.
