Joel L. Frank, managing partner at Lamb McErlane PC and partner Scot Withers represented Erik Arneson in the case. On October 27, 2015 in a 3-1 vote the PA Supreme Court ruled that Governor Tom Wolf had no authority to remove Erik Arneson, Office of Open Records executive director without cause, adopting the decision of the Commonwealth Court.

Tom Wolf's decision to fire Office of Open Records Executive Director Erik Arneson focused on the statutory description of the position before the state Supreme Court on Wednesday in Philadelphia. Lamb McErlane PC managing partner Joel L. Frank, attorney for Arneson, argued that given the OOR's role as a quasi-judicial agency, its director was intended to be independent from the governor.

Maureen M. McBride has been reappointed as a Hearing Committee Member for the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania for another three year term.
